Battlestar Galactica

Battlestar Galactica Classic is the original sci-fi series from 1978. Far across the universe, a civilization of humans lives on a group of planets called the Twelve Colonies. For a thousand years they've been at war with the Cylons, powerful robots created by an advanced reptilian race. The series begins with a huge Cylon attack that wipes out nearly all of humanity, leaving a small group of survivors aboard the Battlestar Galactica and a handful of smaller ships stranded in space with one thin hope: establish a new colony on the fabled Thirteenth Colony, Earth. When creator Glen A. Larson first conceptualized Battlestar Galactica in the late 1960s, he was unable to get the project produced. Then, after the success of Star Wars in 1977, Universal Studios believed a large-scale science fiction epic could see success on television Battlestar Galactica only aired for one season. In that time the show earned a devoted cult following and inspired further installments in books, as well as the successful 2003 re-imagining of the series. MORE
