The Dead Zone is a science fiction thriller TV series developed by Michael and Stephen Piller for the USA Network based on Stephen King's novel of the same name that follows Johnny Smith (Anthony Michael Hall), a teacher who had it all Ð a fiancŽ, a wonderful job working as a Biology teacher in a small town in New England, and a great best friend, but when a car accident leaves him in a coma for six years, Johnny wakes up to find the world he knew is nothing like it was before the crash Not only has his fiancŽ, Sarah (Nicole de Boer), married his best friend, Sheriff Walt Bannerman (Chris Bruno), he finds out he has a son, JJ Bannerman (Connor Price), who knows nothing about him, and that with a touch he has visions of the past and future of those around him. As he comes to terms with his new awakened state, he relies on the help of his physical therapist Bruce (John L. Adams) to help stop his visions from coming true.
