The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is an AMC supernatural horror series created by Academy-Award nominated director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) and based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman. The Walking Dead goes where no TV series has gone before, exploring the terrifying possibilities of a post-apocalyptic world in which the dead walk the earth on an endless search for the flesh of living humans. Andrew Lincoln plays Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer. While apprehending a suspect, Rick gets shot and put in the hospital. Weeks later, he wakes up to find the world he knew gone. His family is nowhere to be found and the streets are filled with corpses. Rick begins a quest for survival, searching for survivors and supplies amidst the hordes of living dead. This series offers a new look at zombie stories, unrestrained by the typical time limits of zombie movies and able to explore the dark depths of humanity in a world gone wrong.
