We Rent Tsukumogami (Subtitle)

Sataro left Edo due to unavoidable circumstances with a promise to return for Oko, and now Seiji receives word that Sataro has kept his promise and returned to the city. However, seeing that he has not visited the Izumo-ya, they worry he may have met some sort of accident.

The Izumo-ya is bearing a significant debt inherited from Seiji's father. Although past due, in honor of Seiji's late father, the debt holder grants a one month extension.

Oko has been on a never ending search for the incense burner, Suou, that is deeply tied to a man named Sataro, who once admitted his love for her. Clues about the item were sparse, but one day, Tsukuyomi and Ohime overhear another person is also searching for Suou.

One day, Kounosuke requests Seiji to look into the background of a seaweed wholesaler named Hansuke. Hansuke is a dashing ladies man with a talent for business despite his age, but Kounosuke is suspicious of his unusual generosity towards him.

A young cook from Katsusaburo's estate named Tokubei has recently opened up his own shop, the Tsuru-ya. To congratulate him, Katsusaburo hopes to borrow some items from the Izumo-ya to decorate his grand opening.

One morning, Seiji runs into Kounosuke on Ryogoku bridge. But Kounosuke suddenly loses his balance and falls in the river, accidentally pulling Seiji with him.

Recently, the hot-topic around town has been the appearance of the chivalrous bandit, Itachi Kozo. According to the rumors, the bandit grants the wishes of those praying at a particular shrine.

Kounosuke, the young master of the Omi-ya, a kimono shop in the Ryogoku district, who is rumored to be a stylish playboy, has recently been visiting the Izumo-ya rather frequently. Kounosuke is fairly refined in his manners, but there is a rumor saying it may be an act to make women let down their guard.

Oko has gone to the Hachiya estate to collect various curios from Katsusaburo's fianc

After successfully solving the mystery surrounding the missing netsuke, Oko and Seiji are surprised by a well-known antique art dealer stopping by their shop to seek their assistance. According to the old man, Hamamatsuya Souemon, the paintings on his hanging scrolls are changing each night.

Izumoya is a rental shop in the Fukagawa Ward of old Edo run by the siblings, Oko and Seiji. One day, they receive a request from a samurai who has lost a precious item that he believes might be a tsukumogami.
