Supergroup

Supergroup was a VH1 reality television series that aired for six episodes, from May to July 2006. This unscripted show pulled the curtain back on the lifestyle of rockstars, showcasing the process of band's formation, conflict resolution, songwriting, and performing live. It focused on the creation of a band from a group of individual musicians who were already famous in their own right. These included Scott Ian from Anthrax, Ted Nugent (notable for his solo career), Evan Seinfeld from Biohazard, Sebastian Bach from Skid Row, and Jason Bonham, son of Led Zeppelin's legendary drummer John Bonham. Rounding out the team was the famous music manager, Doc McGhee, who has worked with iconic bands such as KISS, Bon Jovi, and Mötley Crüe.

The premiere saw these five rockers move together into a large mansion in the Las Vegas desert to kickstart their collaborative project. They had just twelve days to create and perform their first live gig together, originally intended in front of thousands out in the desert. The concept was to take seasoned pros from various corners of the rock universe and see if they could coalesce into a single functioning musical entity.

As they worked towards their goal, the cameras rolled continuously, capturing the much-anticipated show's every moment. Rounding out the instrumental portion was Jason Bonham, whose bloodline carried the legacy of one of rock's greatest drummers – his late father, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin fame.

However, this formation went beyond just practicing and recording new songs.
