The Andy Griffith Show is the classic CBS sitcom starring Andy Griffith as a widowed sheriff, with dimwitted deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts), Barney's sweetheart Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn), housekeeper Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier), and his son Opie (Ron Howard). Andy spends his time with his friends at the Main Street barber shop, and dates around until settling down with a schoolteacher.
