Battlestar Galactica

Battlestar Galactica is the 2003 re-imagining of the classic 1978 sci-fi series. Far across the universe, a civilization of humans lives on a group of planets called the Twelve Colonies. For years now they've been at war with the Cylons, a powerful cybernetic race created by humans. The Cylons were created as robots, meant to help and defend humanity. Upon achieving self-awareness, the deadly Cylons turned on their creators. The series begins with a huge Cylon attack that wipes out nearly all of humanity, leaving a small group of survivors aboard the Battlestar Galactica and a handful of smaller ships stranded in space with one thin hope: establish a new colony on the fabled Thirteenth Colony, Earth. Battlestar Galactica won critical acclaim, several Emmy nominations and awards for Writing and Directing and Visual Effects, and was named one of the 100 best TV shows of all time by Time.
