Alphas is the Syfy science fiction series about a team of super-powered heroes From the minds of X-Men: The Last Stand and The Incredible Hulk writer Zak Penn and Michael Karnow, comes Syfy's entry into the world of super heroes. The pilot episode of Alphas is directed by Lost veteran Jack Bender, and introduces viewers to some ordinary citizens who have abnormal brain anomalies which give these people extraordinary abilities. These people have super powers, both mental and physical, and come together to take the law into their own hands. The group is led by Dr. Lee Rosen, played by Academy Award nominee David Strathairn, who heads up the extraordinary team who takes on crimes that ordinary law enforcement can't handle. Some cases are too tough for the CIA, FBI and Pentagon, whether it's because they are not able, or not willing to investigate the crimes. We join in with the quirky team of super-powered heroes as they try to work together to take on criminals of all kinds, and save the world.
