The Mentalist

The Mentalist is a dramatic TV series developed by CBS that follows a team of agents working for the California Bureau Investigation (CBI) as they solve crimes, typically homicides and serial killers, with the help of Patrick Jane (Golden Globe nominee Simon Baker), a former con man whose past claim of psychic abilities led to the vengeful murder of his wife and daughter by Red John, a still loose serial killer. He lends his talents in hypnotism, pick pocketing, and overwhelmingly accurate skills in observation to pick up things that the other agents simply were not able to put together. His eccentric and peculiar methods typically clash with most of the agents and police officers he has to deal with daily, especially with Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney), a sarcastic and courageous Senior Agent. The rest of the team, including emotionally sensitive newbie Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti), always hungry and overprotective Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), and stoic, dry-witted Kimball Cho (Tim Kang), have learned to deal with the misdirection and parlor tricks Jane uses to close a case.
