Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy adventure TV series based on The Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind that follows the journey of a young woods guide Richard Cypher (Craig Horner) as he has been given the task of preventing the release of ancient and destructive power. Each season is loosely based on each progressive novel of the series, beginning with Wizard's First Rule. Though he grew up in Westland, a place where no magic can go, Richard is a seeker, a type of warrior that has not existed in over a thousand years. While a bit reluctant to take on all that came with it, he has embraced his role as a prophesized hero in the battle against Darken Rahl (Craig Parker). He does not travel alone but brings with him teachers and protectors; after all, he is relatively new to the world of magic. Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan) is a confessor, a female leader who has the ability to bring people under her control by unleashing the love they have within them. Zeddicus “Zedd” Zu'l Zorander (Bruce Spence) is a wizard of the first order who acts very much like a crazy old man and is Richard's grandfather. Cara (Tabrett Bethell), who was once a Mord'Sith, fearsome female warriors, joins despite the not so warm welcome due to her former lifestyle. The series, produced by the Evil Dead and Spider-Man series director Sam Raimi, has a similar feel to Raimi's other successful TV series, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, but Legend of the Seeker has a more serious attitude on the true meaning of friendship and the sacrifices made along the way.MORE
