Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks is a 1990s television serial drama created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, following FBI agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) and his investigation of the murder of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), a popular teenager from the town her body is found near, Twin Peaks. As Dale uncovers the details of Laura’s double life, he learns that the town is full of its own mysteries, as Laura’s father Leland suffers a nervous breakdown, her cousin Maddy (also Sheryl Lee) assists Dale in his investigation, and they investigate Laura’s psychiatrist, Dr. Lawrence Jacoby (Russ Tamblyn), who was obsessed with Laura. Meanwhile, Bob Horne (Richard Beymer), the richest man in town, is too busy devising a devious plan to have an economic monopoly on the town to notice that his daughter Audrey (Sherilyn Fenn) is falling in love with Dale. Through a series of dreams, the key to Laura’s murder turns out to be otherworldy, as a spirit calling himself Bob tells Dale that he is murdering people by possessing a member of the Twin Peaks community without revealing who. Dale continues to try to solve the mystery but it may be harder than he thought, as he must investigate both this world and a surreal one that only exists in his dreams. Later, a film adaptation of the show, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me was released, and can be seen as a prologue or epilogue to the series. MORE
