Lady in the Lake

Premiering on Apple TV on July 19, 2024, Lady in the Lake is a captivating seven-part limited series. The story is set against the backdrop of 1960s Baltimore, unraveling the narrative of Maddie Schwartz, a Jewish housewife driven to transform herself into an investigative reporter, and Cleo Johnson, an African American mother valiantly trying to survive the politics of Black Baltimore and support her family. The two women's lives intersect when Maddie becomes obsessed with the enigmatic death of Cleo, resulting in consequences that endanger everyone linked with them. The series, directed by Alma Har'el, is adapted from Laura Lippman's 2019 novel of the same name. Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram take center stage as Maddie Schwartz and Cleo Johnson, respectively, and are joined by an ensemble cast consisting of Y?lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.
