Wreck Chasers

Wreck Chasers is the TLC reality series that follows the competitive world of tow truck driving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philadelphia is the only city in the US that allows wreck chasing, where tow truck drivers compete to claim wrecks. The competitive multi-million dollar business sends trucks speeding to the scenes of crashes, and Philadelphia has over 200 registered towing companies and 2,000 trucks on the streets hungry for a wreck. The streets of Philly can be dangerous and gritty, so the crews have to be disciplined and safe, while still trying to beat out their rivals. They work with police and rescue crews, often responding to serious wrecks, so the job isn't for those with a weak stomach. Wreck Chasers joins the crew at 1-Unit towing, which is owned by Mickey and PJ and serves Philadelphia with eighteen trucks on the road and over 30 crew members. Micky takes on North Philadelphia with 8 trucks, and PJ captains the 10 vehicle fleet of West Philadelphia. Redz is the crew's tough guy, providing the muscle when things get ugly. Pam is a blocker, blocking competitions trucks, and is known as Tow Diva. Lil' Man is the newest addition, a chaser in training with an attitude much bigger than his 5 foot stature. Michelle works days as a beautician and nights rigging up "the beast", one of their biggest rigs.
