Chicago Hope

Chicago Hope is a dramatic medical television series on FOX that lasted for six seasons. The series centered around a fictional hospital, Chicago Hope, that was well-known around the country for being the last hope for many patients to receive treatment after trying other routes. The main character of Chicago Hope is Dr. Jeffrey Geiger (Mandy Patinkin), a surgeon who is dealing with the death of his son at his wife's (Kim Greist) hands. His colleagues include Dr. Aaron Shutt (Adam Arkin), Director of Medicine Dr. Philllip Watters (Hector Elizondo), cardiac surgeon Dr. Kate Austin (Christine Lahti), Dr. Billy Kronk (Peter Berg), Dr. Robert Yeats (Eric Stoltz), and Dr. Jack McNeil (Mark Harmon), as well as many other talented doctors, surgeons, and nurses. Together, the friends and co-workers must struggle to save lives and stay calm under the pressures of their daily lives. Although Chicago Hope tested well with the critics, it aired against NBC's medical show, ER, in 1994, and lost the mainstream medical drama battle for that year.
