Walker, Texas Ranger

Walker, Texas Ranger is an action/western television show from CBS broadcasting that centers around the dangerous work of the modern Texas Ranger division of law enforcement. Cordell Walker, as portrayed by Chuck Norris, is an enigma. He is a combination of many things: a throwback to the old west, complete with a Stetson hat and trenchcoat, a hip street-tough beat cop, well-versed in modern law enforcement techniques like kicking. Chuck Norris also performed the show's theme "Eyes of the Ranger" which was adopted midway through the show's second season. Other cast members included Clarence Gilyard as Walker's partner Trivette, J. Wilson as perennial love interest Alex, and Noble Willingham as Walker's commanding officer, C.D. Parker. At times overly moralistic, at times absurd, the show saw a late resurgence in its pop culture footprint, marked by the internet-fueled popularity of Chuck Norris, and Conan O'Brien's use of the "Walker, Texas Ranger lever" which, when pulled, would play a clip from the show out of context.
