Fraggle Rock is an HBO children's series created by Jim Henson and starring a large cast of lovable Muppet creatures called Fraggles. The characters of the series, while colorful and wholesome enough for children, all had complex personalities that separated them from the other characters. Of the main cast, Gobo (voiced by Jerry Nelson) is a natural leader with a sense of pragmatism. Mokey (voiced by Kathryn Mullen) is spiritual and artistic, always one to see the positive sides of people. Red (voiced by Karen Prell) is athletic and headstrong, while Wembley (Steve Whitmire) is nervous and indecisive. Fraggle Rock is a highly musical series, featuring dozens of catchy songs by Philip Balsam and Dennis Lee. The Fraggles live in an underground world, surrounded by many different races that they meet throughout the show. Their interactions with other groups sometimes leads to conflict, but always concludes with a positive message of acceptance and friendship.
