CHiPs is the classic ABC TV show which follows the adventures of two Los Angeles motorcycle police officers of the California Highway Patrol, Officer Francis "Ponch" Poncherello (Eric Estrada) and Jonathan "Jon" Baker (Larry Wilcox). Ponch is the macho and rambunctious officer who tends to get himself into trouble, and Jon is the level-headed voice of reason who tries to keep the pair in the good graces of their commanding officer Sergeant Joseph Getraer. The two CHP officers take on the mean highways of Los Angeles, fighting crime and dealing with freeway pileups and police chases, all with spectacular stunts and crashes. From break-ins to faking accidents for insurance fraud, LA streets are a hotbed of auto-related crime.
