IRT: Deadliest Roads

IRT: Deadliest Roads is the History Channel spin-off of Ice Road Truckers where truckers Lisa Kelly, Rick Yemm and Alex Debogorski leave the frozen roads of the arctic circle to tackle the dangerous ancient highways of the Himalayas. The show takes some of the toughest from Ice Road Truckers, sending them to a Himalayan hell, where every 4.5 minutes someone dies on the roads. With over 40 combined years driving, the truckers hope to use their experience to navigate the unique challenges of the historic roads, with some dating back to 206 B.C. From the crowded Dehli streets to the Silk Routes connecting Central and South Asia, the truckers have to deal with crowded cities to narrow yak trails. The famous Indian highway "Freefall Freeway" is one of the craziest, a trail that winds along a wall of concrete, with the other side dropping down a 700 foot cliff. Cliffs are just the tip of the iceberg, as the highways have narrow cutouts only big enough for one vehicle, giant potholes, failing roadways at every turn, and notorious traffic jams.
