Christmas Mingle

Where to Watch Christmas Mingle

2018

In the heartwarming holiday movie Christmas Mingle, Lacey Chabert and Jonathan Patrick Moore take center stage in this romantic gaggle of love, deception, and the spirit of Christmas.

Lacey Chabert stars as Gabby, a young and highly successful career-oriented woman who finds herself in a predicament. Gabby excels in her role as a high-end corporate matchmaker. She is admired for her astute ability to pair high-powered professionals in a seemingly alchemical process that beautifully balances shared life goals, complementary personalities, and lifestyle prospects. However, her professional success seems to contrast sharply with her personal life. Her talent in matchmaking does not seem to reciprocate in her love life, leaving her single and somewhat jaded towards love, especially during the holiday season.

Jonathan Patrick Moore shines as Chris, a kind-hearted and down-to-earth school teacher who loves his work and the simpler things in life. With a strong bond with his family, he cherishes the Yuletide season, which, for him, embodies love and warmth. Chris has always believed in the magic of Christmas and the miracles it can bring.

Their worlds collide when Gabby, under pressure from her boss and looking to nab an important client over the holidays, makes an impulsive and crucial decision. She decides to hire a boyfriend to accompany her to a series of holiday events. She thinks that having somebody beside her will not only boost her self-confidence but also demonstrate her success in every aspect of her life, including her relationships. This desperate move leads her to Chris – a genuine, kind and good-natured man whose opposite life perspectives intrigue her.

Amid the backdrop of enchanting Christmas decorations and the hustle and bustle of holiday preparations, Chabert and Moore create a captivating dynamic. Chris, posing as Gabby's loving boyfriend, does his best to navigate the elite social world he's been thrust into. Simultaneously, he is trying his utmost to dispel Gabby's cynicism about love and the Christmas season. On the other hand, Gabby, initially resistant to Chris's genuine affection due to past disappointments, finds herself increasingly drawn towards him. His authenticity and kind-heartedness are a stark and refreshing contrast to the superficial world that she is accustomed to.

Throughout the course of the movie, the pair end up sharing unforgettable moments. Each event and function they attend garners the attention of Gabby's colleagues, friends, and family. Everyone seems to notice how effortlessly Chris integrates into Gabby’s life and how their connection seems incredibly real, despite the fact that it's not.

However, as Christmas draws closer, Gabby and Chris struggle to maintain their professional agreement without crossing the blurred lines of their growing affection for one another. Both must come to grips with the reality of their feelings against their initially agreed upon pretense.

Director John Bradshaw masterfully creates a delightful mix of romance, comedy, and Christmas magic, supported beautifully by Chabert's and Moore's on-screen chemistry. The movie is filled with festive joy and portrays the importance of genuine relationships over superficial networking. With a captivating storyline and a brilliant cast, Christmas Mingle reminds viewers of the magic and hope that the Christmas season brings and the unexpected surprises that this special time of year has in store for everyone.
