Jonny Quest

Jonny Quest is an adventure cartoon series produced by Hanna-Barbera originally aired on ABC from 1964-1965. The series follows the adventures of Jonny, his father Dr. Benton Quest, their body guard Race Bannon, Jonny's close friend Hadji, and their dog Bandit. Jonny Quest is heavily scientifically stylized, featuring an endless supply of futuristic gadgets, weird weapons, costumed villains, and rampaging robots. The family frequently finds themselves trotting the globe to research various scientific phenomena. However, the seemingly impossible events are often the work of not-so-savory characters, most notably the evil Dr. Zin. The episodes followed a pattern of Dr. Quest bringing his family on a dangerous scientific mission, Jonny and Hadji getting kidnapped, and Race Bannon saving the day. The show featured a limited animation style to save on money and time. This gave the show a very stylized look featuring characters that were mostly still. Despite this limited animation style, there was always a sense of real danger in the show. Although Jonny Quest only aired 25 original episodes, the show's influence is still heavily felt today.
