Eight Is Enough is the ABC comedy-drama about Tom Bradford (Dick Van Pattern), his wife Joan (Diana Hyland), and their children, David (Grant Goodeve), Mary (Lani O'Grady), Joanie (Laurie Walters), Susan (Susan Richardson) Nancy (Dianne Kay), Elizabeth (Connie Newton), Tommy (Willie Aames), and Nicholas (Adam Rich). Tom Bradford is a newspaper columnist for the fictional Sacramento Register, and his wife Joan was a stay-at-home mother who took care of the kids. When Joan passed away, Tom became a widower, who later fell in love with Sandra Sue "Abby" Abbott (Betty Buckley), who tutored the son Tommy. Tom and Abby are married in the TV-movie special in 1977, and the family was whole again. The show lasted for 5 seasons, launching the careers of the cast and leading to two reunion movies on NBC, 1987's An Eight Is Enough Reunion and 1989's An Eight Is Enough Wedding.MORE
