Alfred Hitchcock Presents

Alfred Hitchcock Presents is the classic mystery series hosted by the Master of Suspense himself. When the show began in 1955, Hitchcock had just released the acclaimed film Rear Window. He produced Alfred Hitchcock Presents for the next ten years,during which he directed some of his most iconic films, including Pyscho and The Birds. This series is widely known for its opening sequence, which portrays Hitchcock walking in silhouette into a simple line drawing of himself. The rotund Englishman would almost always open the show with a slow "Good Evening," and in his opening monologues he often included the gallows humor he became famous for. Over four long seasons the show crafted compelling stories of suspense and horror. The series began with half-hour episodes until 1962 when they expanded to an hour-long format. Many great actors made appearances in the series, including Bette Davis, Robert Duvall, and Vincent Price. Just like his movies, Alfred Hitchcock presents has a timeless quality to it, and has been named one of "The 100 Best TV Shows of All Time" by Time magazine. MORE
