Ironside

Ironside is an NBC police drama starring Raymond Burr and Barbara Anderson in a story about a once-great police chief with the San Francisco Police Department who continues to solve cases with his blazing intellect after a bullet leaves him without a job or the use of his legs. Raymond Burr plays Robert T. Ironside, a man with two decades of service experience with the SFPD. In a tragic turn, an assassination attempt by a sniper leaves Ironside paralyzed from the waist down, and he is forced to resign as Chief of Detectives. Never one to give up in the face of adversity, Ironside moves into the SFPD headquarters where he works as a special department consultant, contributing his famed detective skill to the department's toughest cases. Ironside ran for eight seasons in the 60s and 70s, and Burr earned six Emmy nominations for his portrayal of the title character. MORE
