Elif Ayar, who'd recently discovered a letter in her mother's belongings that was written twenty years ago and addressed to her. When she opened the letter, her life was turned inside out. She discovered that it was not written by Fatma, the woman she thought was her mother all these years. She learned that, twenty years ago, a seventeen-year-old, who was confused and scared, ended up requesting her literature teacher, Fatma, to adopt her infant. Fatma suffered from Alzheimer's later in her life, and even though she had intended on telling Elif the truth after her eighteenth birthday, she unfortunately had no recollection of the event. Fatma couldn't even recognize Elif, and that broke her heart all the more. She briefly suffered from an identity crisis, and she made it her life's mission to track down her birth mother.
