Flashforward several years, and Slade has retired from his mercenary activities and settled down in a quiet suburban life with his wife and son. However, his peaceful life is shattered when his past comes back to haunt him. Jackal has kidnapped Slade's wife Adelaide, and plans to use her as leverage to force Slade to cooperate with his plans for a new wave of super soldiers. Jericho, Slade's son, is caught in the middle of the chaos. He is deaf and mute, but possesses the ability to possess other people's bodies through eye contact. This power has made him a target for HIVE, who want to use his abilities to control their new super soldiers. The film follows Slade as he navigates the challenges of his past catching up with him, while also trying to protect his family from the dangers arising from his former life as an assassin. Along the way, he is forced to confront his own demons, while also facing off against a host of villains who are trying to bring him down. One of the standout aspects of this film is the animation. The visuals are stunning, with the action scenes being particularly impressive. The fight scenes are choreographed well and the animation allows for a greater range of movements that you would not typically see in live-action movies. Another standout aspect of the film is the voice acting. Michael Chiklis, who is best known for his roles in The Shield and Fantastic Four, does an excellent job of bringing Slade Wilson to life. He captures the character's ruthlessness and inner turmoil with ease. Sasha Alexander also does a great job as Adelaide, Slade's wife. Her performance adds depth to the character and gives her a more prominent role in the film than you might expect.
