In the year 2790, the peaceful inhabitants of the planet Akir are under threat from the evil warlord Sador and his army of mutants known as the Malmori. With their planet under siege, the Akira people are left with no choice but to seek help from beyond their world. The challenge is taken up by a young farmer named Shad, who sets off in a spaceship to recruit a team of mercenaries to protect Akir and defeat Sador once and for all. Shad's journey takes him on a perilous adventure across the galaxy, as he meets a variety of colorful characters each with their own unique skills and abilities. Among his team are the reptilian assassin Cayman, the computer-like Navigator, and the Valkyrie warrior Saint-Exmin, all led by the grizzled veteran cowboy, Zed.
