Under Cover

Under Cover is an American secret agent drama television series that ran from January 1991 to July 1991 on ABC, starring Anthony John Denison and Linda Purl as Dylan and Kate Del’Amico. The Del’Amicos are a married couple with a big secret—they are undercover spies for a fictional United States intelligence agency. Balancing the demands of such a consuming profession with the responsibilities of rearing two children is no easy job, and the Del’Amicos get into plenty of sticky situations. The acting is good and the storylines amusing, so it was no surprise when Under Cover was greeted by a very positive critical response, especially as it was launched alongside a highly-rated made-for-television movie. The timing, during the 1991 Persian Gulf War, was off, however, as on the same night that an episode aired in which the Del’Amicos infiltrated Iraq on a war-related mission, real-life hostilities broke out and spelled the end for the short-lived television series. Despite Under Cover’s lack of luck, the nine episodes that aired were well received and the four that remained unaired showed promise, as well. MORE
