Jumong is a historical drama TV series developed by MBC network that focuses on the life of Jumong Taewang, a man destined to establish the kingdom of Goguryeo. As the Han Empire wreaks havoc on the Chinese countryside, the legendary soldier Hae Mosu (Heo Joon-ho) joins forces with the crown prince of Buyeo, Geumwa (Jeon Kwang Yeol). When the Hans attack the group, an injured Hae Mosu is found and nursed back to health by the princess of the local tribe, Lady Yuhwa (Oh Yeon-soo). The two fall in love despite the harsh war surrounding them, though their bliss ends when Hae Mosu, blinded and tortured, is seen killed by the Han. Lady Yuhwa seeks help from Geumwa and Hae Mosu’s son, Jumong (Song Il Gook) becomes the third prince of Buyeo with the Lady taking place as a Royal Concubine. Twenty years later, Jumong has grown into a weak willed womanizer with little of the honorary talents his father had. After causing enough trouble to bring the Han nation back into the Buyeo borders, Jumong is expelled from the palace. The expulsion sets out on a journey of self-enlightenment to turn Jumong into the hero and legend that he is remembered as today.MORE
