Expedition Great White

Expedition Great White is a reality television documentary produced by the National Geographic Channel (NatGeo) that profiles expert fisherman, scientist and oceanographers as they work together in an effort to preserve the Great White Shark species. Their journey takes them one hundred and sixty miles off the coast of Baja, California in their attempts to catch one of the most dangerous and challenging fish, the Great White Shark Males reach maturity at 11–13 ft, and females at 15–16 ft. Adults on average are 13–17. 1 ft long and have a mass of 1,500–2,400 lbs. At those staggering proportions, The team of wranglers will no doubt have an extremely difficult time rounding one of these, little less four or five great whites. None the less, the experts will attempt to lift the giant marine animals out of the ocean, onto a platform, mount GPS tracking devices by hand, take necessary measurements and blood samples and release the shark safely back into the water. Every step takes careful crafted steps to protect both the human and animal. Nevertheless, the expert anglers must move swiftly to ensure the shark can swim away safely. Ultimately, the scientists hope that with the data and samples collected, they can uncover how the predator lives and its bloodline. This will all help their ultimate goal of conserving and protecting this endangered species. MORE
