Beast Hunter is the National Geographic series where host Pat Spain searches the globe for mythical creatures. Pat is a wildlife biologist, TV host, and crypto-nerd who is reluctant to call himself a cryptozoologist, one who studies hidden or unknown animals. These animals include legends like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, as well as other cryptids that are less famous, like the Chupacabra and Thunderbirds. Pat became interested in the field after he found a water moccasin farther north than they were known to exist, and the 8 year old Pat realized that the books weren't always right. Now pat is hosting his own show on National Geographic, where he travels the globe to try to find these mythical creatures, immersing himself in tribes and cultures to try to find stories and traces of the fabled creatures. Traveling places like the Brazilian Amazon to find the one-eyed Mapinguari is just the beginning for this brave explorer, and National Geographic brings us along for the ride on Beast Hunter.MORE
