Urban Myths is a 2017 horror-thriller movie set in a town called Ravenswood. The surviving members of the group soon realize that there is more to the legend of the witch than they initially thought. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they uncover dark secrets about their town's past and realize that they may be in grave danger. Urban Myths is a tense and atmospheric horror-thriller that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The movie does an excellent job of slowly building tension and creating a sense of unease that lasts throughout the entire film. The setting of the abandoned house in the middle of the woods is also incredibly effective, providing a creepy and isolated environment for the characters to explore. The acting in the movie is solid across the board. Lou Ferrigno Jr. gives a solid performance as the group's resident skeptic, while Sophie Simmons is impressive in her role as the determined and fearless Tess. Natalie Kabenjian also gives a standout performance as one of the group's quieter members who slowly finds her voice as the danger ramps up. One area where the movie falls a bit short is in its plot. While the central mystery of the witch is intriguing, the movie doesn't really offer anything new or innovative in terms of the overall plot. It often falls back on well-worn horror movie tropes, especially in its depiction of the killer in the cloak. Overall, Urban Myths is a solid horror-thriller that will appeal to fans of the genre. While it's not the most groundbreaking movie out there, it still manages to be tense, creepy, and engaging throughout its runtime. The performances are strong, and the setting and atmosphere are suitably eerie. Recommended for fans of horror movies that don't rely solely on jump scares to create atmosphere.
