Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages, a vibrant and earnest tribute to the glam metal era, transports us back to the hedonistic, hairspray-infused texture of the 1980s and captures the poignant blend of aspiration and decadence that colored the Sunset Strip. On a parallel path, city native Drew Boley (Diego Boneta) is an aspiring rock singer and guitarist, working at a legendary club, The Bourbon Room. Serving as the film's prescribed villain, Patricia Whitmore (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is the religiously devout and moralistically rigid wife of the city's mayor. She campaigns to clean up Los Angeles' morally dubious Sunset Strip, which naturally places her in direct opposition to the Bourbon, the heart of rock 'n roll in L.A..

Meanwhile, amidst his personal struggles and mind-numbing blitz of groupies and slavish fan worship, rock legend Stacee Jaxx is enduring a professional crisis. Tom Cruise delivers an unforgettable performance, skillfully balancing Stacee's outlandish public persona with his far more relatable, human side.
