Return of the Street Fighter

After the death of Bruce Lee in 1972, fans of martial art films all over the world were awaiting his successor. Many tried and failed. A few, like Chuck Norris, created successful careers for themselves. From Japan, Shinichi (Sonny) Chiba, an athletic actor who held black belts in Kyokushinkai Karate and Shorinji Kempo, created a sensation with the international release of The Streetfighter, which upped the ante on violence at the time. Return of the Streetfighter, with a more diverse plotline and an array of opponents using different martial art styles and weapons, such as sai, nunchaku, and katana, showcased Chiba's skills in arguably the best installment of the series.
