Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds is a spinoff of the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series, which itself is based off the popular trading card game. The series centers around characters playing a game called "Duel Monsters." Players duel in stadiums, and ride futuristic motorcycles called Duel Runners. The city where the action takes place is split into two classes, the affluent live in what is called New Domino City, while the poor live in slums known as The Satellite. Fans of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds will be excited to learn of a few new features to the series: "Tuner Monsters" and "Synchro Monsters." In addition to the regular standing duels, Turbo Duels incorporate the aforementioned Duel Runners. These intense battles come with their own unique rules, some of which stray from the rules set up in the manga version of the show. In January of 2010, a 3D movie based on Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds was released in Japan. 4Kids Entertainment is currently working on an English language version.
