Yu-Gi-Oh! is a Japanese animated series about Yugi, a freshman at Domino High School who becomes an avid player of a card game called Duel Monsters. Yugi and his best friends Joey, Tristan, and Tea begin playing the game for the fun of it but quickly discover the game isn't as innocent as they thought. Dating back to ancient Egypt, the cards are infused with a dark power that allows the young students to control giant monsters from another realm that fight other card monsters in magical duels. The young players caught up in the dangerous game enter tournaments and constantly train to protect themselves, their family, and their friends.
