The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show is a children's television series based on the popular Nintendo video game. Each episode begins and ends with Mario ("Captain" Lou Albano) and Luigi (Danny Wells) in their Brooklyn, NY apartment. The segments usually involved running gags and would feature cameos from various television stars, including: Norman Fell, Vanna White, Ernie Hudson, Roddy Piper, and Sgt. Slaughter. Following the sitcom introduction, the show would then transition into an animated segment. If the episode aired Monday through Thursday, the cartoon would be an episode of the Super Mario Brothers Cartoon. The action in the cartoon took place in the same universe set up in the NES games Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2. If it was a Friday, the segment would be an episode of The Legend of Zelda animated series. As with the Mario Bros. Cartoon, The Legend of Zelda Cartoon was based on the first two NES games.
