The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo is the children's mystery series that follows the adventures of teenage detective Shelby Woo (Irene Ng). Shelby lives with her innkeeper grandfather Mike 'Grandpa' Woo (Pat Morita), while working as an intern for the local police department. Shelby was bitten by the crime-solving bug, and she enlists the help of her friends to try to solve the mysteries that come to light. Her grandfather insists that they are just inn keepers and shouldn't meddle in police business, but Shelby is passionate about getting to the bottom of these crimes. The police and her supervisors don't always appreciate her help as she is only a minor, and her grandfather wants her to stay out of harm's way, but she always comes out on top of the cases. The young girl has brains and determination that help her solve mysteries that the cops can't figure out on their own. Originally living in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Shelby and her grandpa later moved to Wilton, Massachusetts.
