Murder, She Wrote is an American television mystery series that aired from 1984 to 1996 on CBS, starring Angela Lansbury as mystery writer and amateur detective Jessica Fletcher. Jessica is a retired English teacher whose murder mysteries have sold many copies and secured a comfortable existence for her. Despite her new wealth, Jessica continues to live in Cabot Cove, Maine. She stays very down to earth and her only eccentricity remains her insatiable curiosity. So when, during her travels around the country to promote her books, she stumbles upon a string of murders, she pulls out her detective’s hat and gets down to some investigating. Lansbury’s astounding acting abilities earned her nominations for ten Golden Globes and twelve Emmys. Lansbury’s depiction of Jessica Fletcher, combined with a great storyline, made the show a huge success.
