The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is an animated comedy series, with a bit of horror thrown in, on Cartoon Network. In this series, Billy (Richard Steven Horvitz) and Mandy (Grey DeLisle) are two children from Endsville, a typical American town. On the 10th birthday of Billy's hamster, Mr. Snuggles, the Grim Reaper (Greg Eagles) comes to take the hamster's soul. Happy-go-lucky Billy and his cynical sister Mandy are completely unafraid of the nightmarish Grim Reaper and, instead of allowing him to go about his business, challenge him to a game of limbo. When he loses the game, the Grim Reaper is forced to be their best friend "forever and ever." Although the Grim Reaper comes to accept his servitude over time, turning his hate relationship with the two into a love-hate relationship, he continues to fantasize over the end of his servitude, voicing his desires to kill the two on more than one occasion. In line with Cartoon Network's darker side, the show includes less-than-pleasant story lines, such as a war-obsessed communist and a dark alternate universe. Despite all of that, the show secured a strong enough fan-base, with is sarcastic humor and unbridled angst, to secure a seven year runtime, from 2001 to 2008. MORE
