Mission Selfie is an engaging adventure and travel show that aired initially in 2016. Testifying to the contemporary influence of social media, the series revolutionized how viewers perceive travel shows by incorporating the modern-day phenomenon of 'selfies' and by giving its young audience an immersive experience of travel and adventure all packed in a series. The show is a dynamic blend of traditional travel documentation mixed with thrilling, high-energy exploits, a touch of mystery, and a fresh perspective through subtly told personal narratives—that's Mission Selfie.

The show is a thrilling ride which follows two main characters namely, renowned points of view filmmaker Ben Brown and famous celebrity photographer Steve Booker. Both individuals bring their unique flavour and wealth of experience to the series making it more than just a travel show. They embark on numerous adventures around the globe with a mission to capture the perfect snapshot that encapsulates the essence and spirit of the respective locations they visit. Both have previously worked together on various projects, so they share an undeniable chemistry and understanding that adds another layer of intrigue to the series.

Much of the show revolves around the duo undertaking adventurous exploits and stepping out of their comfort zones. The planned expeditions across the world turn out to be a promising setup for their ultimate goal, that is, snapping that one perfect shot, the 'selfie.' However, the show doesn't revolve solely around a literal 'selfie.' Instead, the 'selfie' serves as a metaphor—an iconic image that beautifully reflects the spirit of the place and the experience they've embarked on.

In Mission Selfie, the concept of 'selfie' is redefined. The word "selfie" mostly evokes images of people extending their arms to take photos of themselves. Still, in the show, a 'selfie' translates into an iconic photograph that encapsulates their journey and experience in each unique location. The journeys to the stunning locales through forests, mountains, desserts, snow-covered landscapes, and more are portrayed incredibly vividly – offering a captivating view for the audience's eyes.

Both Ben and Steve put their skills to the test as they push their limits to capture the best possible 'selfie'. Their unique perspectives and innovative techniques provide an interesting insight into how they interpret and interact with the environment around them. They seek to present the vibe and the soul of the place in a simple photograph. As the series progresses, viewers get to witness the bond between these two dynamic personalities grow stronger, their photography skills evolve, and their perception of the world widen with every new experience.

Mission Selfie does a magnificent job in fusing travel documentation with the timeless allure of photography. Moreover, the exceptional landscapes, unique cultures, and diverse life around the globe offer a vivid tapestry of the world's beauty. It is not just a regular travel show, it's a documentary-style series which also provides a new perspective on the culture and people living in those breathtaking locales. Also, the overall production and execution are professional and engaging, making it a must-watch series for photography enthusiasts and travel lovers alike.

The floods of modern reality shows may seem daunting at times, but Mission Selfie manages to stand out with its unique premise. By entwining the art of photography, the thrill of adventure, and the charm of different global destinations, the show provides a fresh take on traditional travel shows. It takes viewers on a beautiful journey across the globe, bringing the stunning visuals and atmosphere right from their screens into their homes—or rather, from the perspective of their handheld devices.

In essence, Mission Selfie is truly a brilliantly executed series that combines the elements of journey, discovery, and photography, proving that travel is not just about reaching a destination but cherishing the journey.
