The Philadelphia Experiment

The Philadelphia Experiment is a science fiction movie. The time is 1943 and the film tells about the adventures of two sailors who are stationed aboard the USS Eldridge in Philadelphia harbor while the destroyer participates in a scientific experiment to see if it can be made invisible to radar detection. But the equipment being used suddenly begins to malfunction, and Herdeg and Parker, the two sailors, soon find themselves mysteriously transported to a desert location after they try to escape the ship by jumping overboard. They soon run into trouble after seeking refuge at a local diner and hijack a car and its female driver to escape the police. After quizzing the driver, they are amazed to discover that they have traveled more than four decades into the future to the year 1984. But what is even more amazing is that Naval scientists in the Nevada desert town where the time-travelling sailors have landed have continued using the same technology that made the USS Eldridge disappear, with even more tragic consequences.
