I Am I

I Am I is a 2013 independent drama film directed and written by Jocelyn Towne, who also stars in the film. The movie tells the story of a young woman named Rachel (Jocelyn Towne) who has just lost her father. She decides to go to his funeral and there, she meets a man named Jonathan (Simon Helberg). Jonathan is a struggling musician who has recently broken up with his girlfriend.

Rachel and Jonathan start talking and she finds out that he is the son of a famous movie director. They begin to get closer and Rachel starts to fall for Jonathan. However, as their relationship progresses, Rachel realizes that Jonathan has a strange obsession with her father.

The film takes place over a period of 24 hours and alternates between flashbacks and present-day scenes. Rachel's flashbacks with her father show the two of them engaging in meaningful conversations about life, love, and aging. Her father also shares with her his regrets and secrets from the past.
