He assumes that Ted is the alien and arrests him. As the story unfolds, Ted's wife, Lana played by Jenni Baird, and Vern discover that Ted is not the alien invader, but is actually an alien who is here to save the Earth. With Ted’s help, they try to stop Ghota and save their town from destruction. Along the way, they encounter various challenges, including the evil alien's minions and the struggle to find a way to destroy Ghota.
