Algorithm: Bliss is a mind-bending and dark thriller that explores the dangerous and seductive world of Black Mirror meets Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Directed by Isak Borg and Dena Hysell-Cornejo, the movie stars Sean Faris, Sarah Roemer, and James Saito.

Faris plays Vic Beckett, a genius tech entrepreneur who creates a revolutionary VR technology that allows users to live out their wildest dreams and desires. The technology simulates a dream state where the user experiences a perfect world where everything they want is at their fingertips. The dream state is entered by inserting a tiny chip into the base of the neck that connects to the VR headset.

However, when Vic becomes addicted to the dream state he created, he starts to lose touch with reality. He is haunted by visions of a beautiful woman, Jules (Roemer), who he cannot remember in the real world. He becomes obsessed with her and spends countless hours in the dream state searching for her. Jules, on the other hand, is a woman trapped in a dangerous situation, desperately trying to escape her traumatic past.

As Vic’s mind becomes more and more unstable, he starts to question the true purpose of his invention. Was it solely for enjoyment, or is the technology being used for more sinister purposes? His doubts are amplified when he discovers that he is no longer in control of the dream state and is being watched by a shadowy figure who has access to all the user’s personal information.

The story unfolds in a non-linear fashion, jumping between the real world and the dream state. The audience is led on a journey through Vic’s psyche as he becomes more unstable and the lines between reality and the dream state blur.
