Tabloid Wars is a documentary television show on Bravo about the rivalry between the New York Daily News and the New York Post. The show focuses on the former editor of the New York Daily News, Michael Cook, who has been likened the eccentric boss in the United Kingdom’s version of The Office, David Brent (Ricky Gervais). Luckily, Cook is not the sole star and the show also takes a look at the many, many hard-working journalists and tough editors that make the paper run smoothly. With each episode centered around the hunt for that perfect piece of news, the show is fast-paced and interesting, drawing viewers back, time and time again, to see what happens next. Although one might expect a reality show about journalists to be as dull as grandpa’s hearing, the majority of the day, in which they journalists make calls, type calmly, and so on, is cut out to leave mostly just the really exciting moments, as a big story breaks and the whole staff spins into a frenzy. Tabloid Wars is an interesting look at the making of news, from a fresh, new perspective.MORE
