Shorties Watchin' Shorties was a comedy show from Comedy Central starring Nick DiPaolo, Patrice O’Neal, and an array of the best comedians in the business. The show featured two irascible, TV-addicted babies (DiPaolo and O’Neal) making sarcastic comments on current events as they watched animated comedy shorts based on standup routines from comedians like Dane Cook, Mike Birbiglia, Adam Ferrara, Brian Regan, Denis Leary, and many more. Shorties Watchin’ Shorties was created by executive producers Denis Leary and Jim Serpico. The show’s concept was originally devised after the network received positive feedback for animated shorts of stand-up segments that aired during commercial breaks. The reaction compelled Comedy Central to create an entire show of animated shorts, resulting in Shorties Watchin’ Shorties. However, the show’s feedback did not mirror that of the shorts, and was not renewed for a second season.
