No Ordinary Family

No Ordinary Family is a series on ABC about Jim Powell (Michael Chiklis), a man whose scientist wife and children all seem to be drifting away from him. His scientist wife is constantly busy, his son is being tested for a learning disability, and his teenage daughter is permanently attached to her cell phone. He plans a trip for them to take together to Brazil, and a plane crash puts them in a phosphorescent water that gives them each super powers. Jim finds the he is bulletproof and can jump super high, but is wary of sharing it with his family. When he broaches the subject with his wife Stephanie (Julie Benz), however, she reveals that she has developed a super speed. When they figure out how they got the powers, they discover that their children have new gifts as well. His daughter Daphne (Kay Panabaker) can hear the thoughts of others, and his son JJ (Jimmy Bennett), while previously struggling in school, has developed super intelligence. With their new skills, they try to find purpose for their powers while sticking together as a no-longer quite so ordinary family. MORE
