Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is a Japanese-style animated ("anime") sibling series to Full Metal Panic!, both produced by Kyoto Animation and based on the stories by Shoji Gatoh. Compared to Full Metal Panic, much of the series is non-linear, allowing each episode to stand alone from each other (with a few exceptions). The premise behind the series, which helps explain the name change, focused on Fumoffu, the mascot for the series, as well as an armor suit used in battles. The series focuses on the romantic tension present in Full Metal Panic!, mostly between Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori. The series takes on a lighter ton than Full Metal Panic!, often parodying itself and poking fun and the anime genre as a whole. The is very little robot combat in the series, and the intricate political overtones are all but absent as well. The series originally ran from August 2003 to November 2003 with a total of 12 episodes.MORE
