Munich

Munich is based on the real life events of an incident involving the deaths of 11 Israeli athletes during the Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. After 11 athletes are murdered at the hands of the Palestinians, a Mossad agent named Avner Kaufman is chosen to lead an assassination squad and receives an assignment from Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir. Later, Avner quits the Mossad, making the squad a rogue operation with no official ties to the country. His team is consisted of four Jewish men. His team starts to track down 11 members of the Palestinian Liberation Organization with the help of a French informant named Louis. The team trek across Europe to kill off each target. The team first arrives in Rome to track down Abdel Wael Zwaiter, who is a poet. Avner and Robert, one of the other squad members, shoot and kill Abdel. The team travels to Paris to track down Mahmoud Hamshari. Robert, an expert in explosives, plants an explosive in Mahmoud’s phone. Carl, a former Israeli soldier, calls Mahmoud, eventually setting off the device. Avner provides the signal for Robert to detonate the device but is nearly killed in the explosion. The explosion nearly kills a newlywed couple staying next door to Mahmoud. The mission appeared to be a blunder as Robert was unaware the explosion was more powerful than he expected. The squad regroups and track down three more of their targets in Beirut. They team up with the Israeli Defense Forces, ambush the Palestinian compound and eventually kill everyone inside. After their job in Beirut, they learn that Ali Hassan Salameh, the mastermind behind the Munich massacre was hiding somewhere in Spain. On the way, Avner loses members of his squad. Steve is the other surviving member. They arrive in Spain to track down Salameh. However, the assassination attempt fails. Soon after, Avner rejoins the Mossad.
