1844, Ireland. Liam O'Conner is a common thief. Beyond the material items that he's stolen in his life, he has also stolen the heart of Cora McLeod, the daughter of an aristocrat, away from that of decent Finn Walsh. But his actions led to Cora's premature death. Liam only just learns that he has been in limbo for close to two hundred years in being brought back to present day Earth, specifically the town of Providence Falls, Oregon, by angels Samael and her underling Agon on the mission to fulfill the missed destiny of a reincarnated Cora, that in bringing her back together with a reincarnated Finn. Liam's own eternal fate rests on how he does on this mission. Cora is now a neophyte police detective who is trying to prove herself to her colleagues in light of being the daughter of the former but still very present overbearing police chief, and Finn is an Assistant DA, they already seeming friends in this life. While all the reincarnated souls have no idea of their past life, they who include more than just Cora and Finn, Liam will have full knowledge of his while having no knowledge of how to conduct himself in 2025 US or his current backstory which includes some of these reincarnated souls. The problems, of which Samael is well aware, is that the other side, which Agon colloquially refers to as H E double hockey sticks, may also be working on this file in opposition, and that Liam may try to reunite romantically with Cora in believing she his soul mate, and not Finn's.
